"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God" (Philippians 4:6). Money is one of those things. Jesus taught us to pray for daily bread. Paul prayed for provision. The psalms cry out in tight months and full ones alike.

This hub gathers every prayer guide we have written — for breakthrough, provision, debt cancellation, business, morning routines, and the weekly rhythm that holds when the math does not. Biblical language. No name-it-and-claim-it.

Prayer for finances in Scripture is shaped by a small handful of texts. Jesus teaches us to ask for daily bread in the Lord's Prayer (Matthew 6:11) — the Greek epiousios is a hapax legomenon, appearing only here in all of Greek literature, and means "for this day" or "sufficient." Paul promises in Philippians 4:19 that "my God will supply every need of yours" and frames anxiety-replacement prayer in Philippians 4:6-7. The Old Testament gives us the prayer of Jabez (1 Chronicles 4:10), Solomon's prayer for wisdom over riches (1 Kings 3:5-14), and Agur's prayer in Proverbs 30:8-9 — "give me neither poverty nor riches."

Common practical themes: prayers for provision and daily bread, for work and employment, for wisdom in financial decisions (James 1:5), for debt freedom, for contentment (Hebrews 13:5), for generosity and a cheerful heart (2 Corinthians 9:7), for the prosperity of the city (Jeremiah 29:7), and intercession for the poor and oppressed (Proverbs 31:8-9). Scripture also draws a hard line against using prayer as a transactional tool — the prosperity gospel is rebuked in 1 Timothy 6:5 and the request born of wrong motive in James 4:3.
