The Greek word: charis

Greek charis (χάρις) — "grace, favor, gift". Is the New Testament's root for both God's grace toward us and our giving back to him. Paul calls the Macedonian collection tēn charin tautēn ("this grace") in 2 Cor 8:6, 19. Christian giving is grace flowing from grace received. It is not transactional. It is responsive.
